Tell us a little about Danfoss!

–Danfoss is a Danish technology company founded in 1933. We develop energy-efficient solutions for areas including heating, cooling, drives and buildings.

Danfoss Climate Solutions, the business segment where I work, focuses on integrated heating and cooling solutions – from components to complete systems – with the aim of enabling sustainable development in buildings, food systems, industry and infrastructure.

How long have you been working with Karlborgs?

– We have worked together for many years, with energy measurement as the underlying technology.

What does your collaboration involve?

–We primarily supply components and solutions to manufacturers of freezer cabinets, refrigerated display cases and refrigeration units – known as OEMs. Our customers purchase products such as controllers, sensors, valves and control systems from us. The equipment is then delivered to stores, where it is installed and integrated by an installer.

When it is time to optimize and fine-tune the installation, Karlborgs acts as a link between our support team and what is happening on site. Karlborgs also purchases hardware from us and programs it according to the installer’s requirements.

To integrate third-party equipment with Danfoss systems, Karlborgs has developed complementary solutions such as signal converters for equipment from different manufacturers – something that has made them unique. They have also specialized in an area that few companies master: advanced programming.

They support the industry with tasks that we do not always have the capacity to handle ourselves. Over the years, our collaboration has expanded to include support as well as joint development with our product lines.

What have you achieved together?

– In short, together we have contributed to significant energy savings for end customers. For a medium-sized grocery store, costs have in many cases been reduced by half. In the past, refrigeration systems were rarely optimized, and excess heat from the refrigeration equipment was not utilized. Today, this heat can be recovered through efficient system solutions. Safety in stores has also improved, both for personnel and equipment.

What do you appreciate about Karlborgs?

– Karlborgs has an excellent reputation and a strong brand. They are loyal, accessible and highly skilled. I would also highlight how they support us by handling a significant share of our field support. They also test our products and, in doing so, become part of our development process.
