Smart Communication Gateway for Easy System Integration

M2M1 is a smart communication gateway that enables third-party devices to be integrated with Danfoss System Managers. By emulating a compatible Danfoss device, external controllers and sensors can be connected quickly without the need for complex custom development.

The Challenge

Danfoss System Managers are designed to communicate with Danfoss controllers.
Third-party devices using RS-485/Modbus RTU often use different data structures and register maps, which means that the System Manager normally cannot identify or communicate with these devices directly.

Traditional integration therefore requires:

  • Custom protocol gateway
  • Customized register maps
  • Manual configuration during commissioning

Without an integration solution such as M2M1, there is effectively no standardized way to connect third-party devices to Danfoss systems.

The result is longer installation times, higher costs and an increased risk of communication issues in critical systems.

The Solution

M2M1 creates a standardized and reliable communication link between third-party devices and Danfoss controllers.
By presenting the connected device as an EKC-compatible Danfoss controller, integration becomes possible even where native support is otherwise unavailable.

This means:

  • The Danfoss system can identify and read the connected device
